That sucks Pete. Sorry to hear that

Thanks mate. I was due to go on Thursday night. :slap: Oh well, there is a waiting list for places in case anyone dropped out (it's only 8 places!), so, I'll be getting my two and a half grand back and will blow some of it on kit to cheer myself up! (and book for next year as well).

It's probably for the best. I'm too pig headed and stubborn to admit I'm still not 100% and the expedition is bloody hard going and I don't think a strong mindset would be enough on its' own. At least I've now got time to recover fully and do some more training for the next one.

Today I was asked by Frau Steiner how I had not noticed the full clothes horse outside last night, when I went to retrieve my Kragenbinden from the clothes line. The clothes were of course frozen stiff this morning.

Today is world book day.

I hate world book day.

All those children and parents.

And yet another one has peed on my floor.

Just got all my kit ready for POW in record time! Managed to strip and rebuild my motor, rewire the gearbox and heatshrink it all in an hour.

Sat out in the sun and re-sewed a belt hook hole - if you've got a German tunic, you know what I mean! I lost a lot of blood doing it - gold wound badge is surely on its way.

went to an open day .....................................

how my heart sank when i got there and half the players were carrying fruity "twat tones"

it just gos to show, never judge a book by its cover, i had a great day, not one cheat call , no overkill, no non hit taking, it was a very good buch of chaps and chapettes.
all the fruity guns were on the same team, so i expected a real mullering in a firefight. but no, everyone played a good game right up till end ex.

so my opionion of open days went up today, despite my general hatred of them

the only reason i went was to zero the tanaka k98and scope, and give it a try

despite me having to repair the bent barrel, it now shoots lovely and straight , and chronoed at a nice 492fps on green, with a .20 bb at an ambient temperature of -1 C.

worth going just for that , but to have a really good open day on top of it has left mr porta on a real high this week :happyswing:

That's right poor me! Though when it comes to computer games I think that releasing Napoleon: Total War in the middle of 'lots of work season' was just mean...

Could you not do both at the same time? If Carly can job hunt, play xbox, ps3 and PC at the same time whilst eating a bacon sandwich...I'm sure you can mix work and computer games!
